Westchester Corporate Cup 5k Summer Race Series returns to Westchester

White Plains, New York (June 11, 2015) – The Westchester Corporate Cup 5k Summer Race Series returns to Westchester County this summer with a three-race series on the scenic perimeter road of the Purchase College, State University of New York campus.
The three-race series will be held on Wednesday weeknights for each summer month at 6:30 PM on June 24, July 22, and August 12.  The race series is known for its unique corporate team competitions featuring men’s, women’s and co-ed corporate teams from local Westchester County businesses and from the surrounding areas.  Teams will be comprised of either three men, three women or a combination of two men and two women.  The races are open to the public and anyone can run as an individual. Runners can compete as individuals or as part of a corporate team, but not both.
For each race, awards will be given to the top three men and women individual runners under 40; the top three men and women individual runners of 40 and over; and the first place men’s, women’s and co-ed teams. Each company can have multiple teams in each category, such as more than one men, women, and coed teams.  The top awards will go to the team in each category that score the best cumulative times at each race event and over the course of the three-race series. Walkers and runners not affiliated with a corporation are welcome to participate.  Individual runners can place for first, second or third at each race event for each category.
The series, which is a nonprofit event, is being underwritten by entry fees and the sponsorship of seven companies with a strong presence in the Westchester County business community:  Heritage Realty Services, L.L.C., Dorian Drake International, Inc.; O’Connor Davies, LLP; Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management; Citibank, N.A., Normandy Real Estate Partners and 1st Equity Abstract. Net proceeds will go to the Westchester Continuum of Care, which provides shelter and community services for Westchester’s homeless.
“These races offer participating companies a way to promote wellness and to get their folks together after work in  a fun, team-building environment,  “said Edward Dorian Jr., President of Dorian Drake International, a lead sponsor of the events, and Board Chairperson of Corporate Cup Races, Inc. a nonprofit 501(c)3 through the Road Runners Club of America. “It’s also an opportunity for participants to network with individuals from other Westchester businesses and to raise money for a worthy local cause.”
The races will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the starting line located by the entrance of the university’s gym. There will be two water stations along the race route plus food and refreshments at the finish line, where provisions will be donated by Heritage Realty Services, LLC.
