Westchester Corporate Cup 5k Summer Race Series Returns to Purchase College
White Plains, New York (July 9, 2019) – The Corporate Cup Race Series returns to Westchester County this year with two 5K evening races at Purchase College, State University of New York campus.
The races will be held on two weeknights—July 18 and August 15—and feature corporate team and individual competitions on the scenic perimeter road of the Purchase College campus. In a break from tradition, teams will be gender neutral and comprised of three people. Individual runners and walkers are invited to compete, as well.
For each race, awards will be given to the top three men and women individual runners under 40; the top three men and women individual runners over 40; and the first and second place corporate teams. There will be a coordinated pre-race stretch at 6:00 PM. The races will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the starting line located near the university’s physical education building. There will be three water stations along the race route and music, food, and beverages at the finish line. Free parking is available on-site at East 3, 4 or 5.
All net proceeds will go to New Rochelle’s Hope Community Services, one of Westchester’s leading community services organizations.
“The race series offers companies a great way to get their folks together after work for a fun activity that promotes team-building and wellness,” said Ed Dorian Jr. of Dorian Drake International, the race series’ organizers and one of its lead sponsors. “It also provides a great opportunity to network with people from other local businesses while supporting a worthy local cause.”
The series, which is a nonprofit event, is being underwritten by entry fees and contributions from seven sponsoring companies: Heritage Realty Services, LLC; Dorian Drake International, Inc.; PKF O’Connor Davies, LLP; Scarsdale Medical Group; Pearlgreen Corporation; Eifert, French & Ketchum, and Ivy Rehab Physical Therapy.
